βeta: I totally agree. I tried it as my first ever route at the roaches this weekend. I got nowhere. The Rib next to it, (if you go up the arete-y thing, as the gully is ok) was no good either. Diffs and vdiffs should either have very positive footholds and handholds and little gear, or slightly more challanging climbing with decent placements. This had ok footholds, but weak handholds, and zero gear. Maybe I'll top rope it sometime, and see if I missed something. It did look like there were some broken holds though. I gave up on Blushing Buttress after that, and I had no trouble on any other routes I tried up to HS at the other areas of the upper tier. | βeta? | |
