From the line of your rope haven't you climbed "Death is the Hunter" and hopped over onto Nijinski? both great routes mind :-)

Shouldn't Nijinski stay on the left hand side of the arete? this way would make the crux much easier?

The line leads you naturally this way from the resting pocket just right of the ripple. One might play around with eliminate sequences on a top-rope but on an onsight lead this is the natural route.

the onsight lead traverse into safer ground on another route?
When Cubby says "best climbed direct" he means climb it direct or don't climb it.

Your first sentence makes no sense. The second is a *huge* leap unless you have consulted him personally. Until I see a comment here from him personally saying that the indirect line is completely worthless, I'm afraid I have to regard your entire comment as bollocks.
