When launched in 1950, the Vermont revolutionised mountaineering eyewear, allowing climbers to finally reach the peaks with proper eye protection. These glacier sunglasses marked the start of climbing's glory years, as mountaineers set out to conquer the highest peaks in the world. Initially adopted by climbers but then made famous by rock stars such as Sting, they have become collector's items. Julbo is now making this mythical model available once again!

"When you think of glacier glasses, the often copied image of the Vermont comes automatically to mind with its round lenses and leather shields. This model is highly iconic for mountaineering fans, for Julbo - it was one of the first models manufactured by the brand - but also for anyone who appreciates collectible pieces brimming with history", Julbo CEO Christophe Beaud.

Highly scratch and shock resistant, the Vermont's Alti Arc Cat 4 mineral glass lens is of superior optical quality. It is an essential benchmark for glacier glasses. With its flash treatment of the lenses, this new edition of the Vermont Mythic will delight all high mountain fans or simply lovers of collectable memorabilia.

To further celebrate Julbo's 125 years of history in producing eyewear for active sports users Lyon Outdoor are also providing a pair of the Vermont's modern equivalent: The Julbo Tensing.
