Great little centre but I would ring first to check you are aloud to climb and don't need a lesson first as they won't make any effort to help you get started unless you pre book. Not happy with the lack of drive to get people climbing.
VERY GOOD CENTER OVER HANG FUN LOTS OF WALLS AND GOOD CAMPUS BOARD
i thought it was a very fun place and a great activity for all the family
I reckon its a great little place. Good staff, doffee and facilitys. I travel from Portsmouth a few times a year cos I like it up there. Good old tim,tim and lee.

Went climbing here just after christmas and as a relative novice I found the centre to be friendly and have a nice atmosphere. The Pit was certainly fun although wet but that just adds to the challenge doesn't it?

Well... being a monkey... I know good climbing when I see it. It's my local...27 miles away but still my local and I feel I need to defend the place =oD
Staff ARE helpful! just ask them for assistance.. they dont bite! well Ade might if ya ask nicely! But all in all they are a helpful bunch.
These days the routes are changed fairly often.
I'm a bouldering type and I love this place! At the mo you will find lots of nice lil 'up routes', a few travers routes, and of course the bouldering room which you can make no end of routes in!!! I mean we must have done 150+ routes since I started climbing there.. thats just in the bouldering room!!! 'Chestnut' being one of me faves. Come on over and ave a crack at it! A nice selection of easy stuff up to 'you aint ever gonna do that' type routes 'not for vegies' being one of them! Hats, shoes and indeed clothes off to Jonesy and Tank for doing that lil beauty! Seriously.. if ya can do that one I'll buy you a drink!
It's not usually too busy and we are a friendly bunch (honestly!)
So get on down there (tuesdays n fridays are good for us but we are avaliable for autographs on request)
See ya there - Monkey
-Team 'Smack!' Monkey, Dan, Sam, Jonesy, Tank-
yes we are all fools and no this was not writen in any serious manner =o)
This center rocks, anyone who thinks climbing/training in damp conditions is a problem is clearly a stranger to climbing in britain, and if you ask the helpful staff they are always on hand to change routes and even help you lay down your own. Evenings are always quite with the cream of midwales climbers laying down the standard; monkey, dan, sam, jonesy
This centre is a decent alternative when you need a change of scene from Treharris. It is better suited for school groups and beginners, as most routes are short and without much interest. The pit is a nice feature, but again the damp is a bit annoying. Good small walls for the very young. I find it a bit hectic and usually bail out by noon. The gear shop is closed but has reconsolidated at Crickhowell Adventure in Brecon, which is excellent with informed and pleasant staff.
Llangorse is a very friendly centre, staff are always on hand to advise or sort out any problems you may have. The adult club is a great oportunity to meet up with other climbers in the area.
Well, this turned out to be my nearest climbing wall which is about 40 miles away. I am a beginner although have picked it up fairly quickly. Have to say that this centre offers value for money (£1 life membership and £4 a throw for adults - which is for the day - £4 for a day of climbing - can they do that?!!) and some excellent facilities. Seems to be untapped as its normally very quiet with just a handful of climbers there. Open to 10pm as well which is unheard of in Mid-Wales (except Sundays - 6pm).
Coffee is also excellent - hand made - none of the crap you would normally get from a machine!

Very good for both beginners and experienced climbers. There's a pit that has been especially dug from within the ground called "The Pit" which has natural rock and moulded hand holds for use. Abseiling facilities are availible. All sorts of other features are included. Well worth a look. The only down side to the centre is that it's a bit small. But you've got to try the hot chocolate.
