You Didn't say whether the grades were out up or down?
Set problems are a welcome improvement on the wall. (Well done for putting the effort in, Glasgow Climbing Centre). However IMO, the British gradings seem about one tech grade out and problems a bit samey in nature- mainly reach- oriented, probably favouring bigger and stronger types. A bit of variety would be nice.
Now being re-set by The Glasgow Climbing Centre.
Fully colour coded and graded problems with clean holds!
If you are a student its a £3 registration fee and then £1.35 a go.
There are now quite a few new holds on the wall which look huge but have lots of small crimps and finger pockets and have gone way to eliminate its polished reputation.
The holds also appear to have been organised into routes, which they werent previously.
All in, considering the price, this wall is perfect for bouldering training on do-able problems especially if you are a beginner/intermediate.
A route book and recognised problems/grades would be a welcome addition
Having trained here for 7 years I quite like it. However, it is very limited if you have little imagination or are feeling weak. Lots of excellent fingery problems with feet on shiny features, and lots of thuggy stuff too. Shame there are sometimes loose holds, and routes don't get altered that often. Worth a look. Just wish they would turn the heating down.....
