A new climbing facility opened just off the A1 exit 59 in Newton Aycliffe. Rof59 climbing centre is built in the royal ordinance factory number 59 hence the name.
We have a 22m lead wall with an impressive roof section, 48 climbing lines gives you all the climbing you could shake a clip stick at, from top ropes, auto belays, dedicated lead walls and a speed wall, we even have a bouldering area with 7 sets which change on the regular. In house and guest setters keep the routes fresh and clean for all.
Keeping on theme we have the bunker bar which serves up local ales and the blitz restaurant with its full restaurant menu gives you something to eat after your climb, Don't worry we haven't forgotten the most important item of all, COFFEE!!!
For those who arnt ready for the 22 meter wall we also have our Adventure walls which are perfect for little climbers to try out.
