Overview

New for spring 2014, the Harrow wall is situated in the sports hall at Harrow Leisure centre. The wall has replaced the old Harrow wall, which built up a reputation for having a very unintimidating and friendly atmosphere.

We wanted to keep this feeling when redesigning the new wall and also provide some more advanced elements. We hope we’ve achieved this.
Facilities

The wall has 10 independent climbing lines and rises to a height of 9.0 metres. A variety of angles and features are included to appeal to climbers across a wide range of abilities. The central overhang provides the most challenging section of the wall. To the left and right of this more easily angled vertical walls provide areas more suited towards novice and mid-grade use. Grooves, corners and aretes are created where these areas intersect adding three-dimensional interest to the climbing. The wall includes a high level belay ledge (please check availability) and includes crack features for jamming and laybacking.

Top-roped and lead climbing is available on all lines and there is also a Trublue Auto Belay Descender that allows participants to climb with no partner.

As of 13 May 2008 there will be a regular climber's evening 6.00- 9.30 @ the wall. £6 per person.

New for 2008. the wall is open for all bookings. It's actually a very usable attractive compact wall; great for small groups, special instruction like G.C.S.E. climbing. Climbing is on 3 walls of a squas hcourt sized room. 1 wall entreprise panels,1 wall includes board peanls & ramp, 3rd wall is being used for bouldering and traversing.

06/11/02 This wall has been out of use for a little while but, will reopen at the end of November 2002. It now has 12 in-situ ropes and a load of new bolt-on-holds. Supervised public session times still to be arranged. 10-16 year old Junior Sessions and Adult Sessions are expected a couple of evenings during the week and Saturday afternoon. Parties will also be available soon.
