Think this wall is ace my only complaint is why cant there be one near me. It is so varied and many different routes. Nice thick crash mats gave me the confidence to try stuff i might otherwise have safely climbed down from. Great fun for a group dosent matter if you are all at different levels of climbing, and just as good to cruise down and play by yourself. Great value for money at £3. If your bored on the campsite and the sun has set nip down and see for yourself.

Sorry jonathan_g but i think you are wrong, maybe its your lack of experiance, or ignorance but the wall @ PYB is one of the best around. I have been to some walls in my time and this one is well rated. its clean with a good chalk extraction system, good quality holds and smears, with a bouldering section that rocks! The routes ARE there and with climbs that will test all levels of experiance, including a "no handed" 6c route which is well fun with a load of mates. The tower has plenty to keep most happy, although a little cramped, never the less, a collection of quality climbs. I suggest that you go back to PYB if you get the chance and enquire about a route sheet, they had these available when I last went just after a large youth competition and it helps to find the routes. They have also just put a jukebox and speakers so you can listen to some top tunes while you climb! Well worth a visit in my view..........Enjoy

Hi everyone, For the last four days i have been staying at a youth hostel in the PYB area and as we were climbing outdoors during the day we thought the best evening activity would be the PYB indoor wall. It was a real disapointment, it was crap and the only good thing about it was the bouldering. The leading wall was rubbish wilh routes messed up all over the place and confusing top clips for the leader.Top clips mixed up with pulleys etc. As i am only 17 years old I found it quite unsafe and why is a outdoor centre with such a good name have such a bad layout in the indoor climbing area? Also on the opposite wall to the leading wall there is a few nice climbs with the opportunity to lead them, but the quickdraws start and then when you get to the third there is no more all the way to the top. What is the point in this? It could be really good if they went all the way to the top, but if it doesn't whats the point in the first three? Its just confusing. The top rope walls are good aswell but there is one krab at the top with a pulley on it and if you are leading there is another one behind it is really hard to get at especially if you are not a very good, experienced climber like me! Thanks for for reading this and letting me have a good moan! Has anyone else had the same thoughts as this other than me and my friends?
