Review

This is the definitive guidebook covering the sport climbing on the sandstone crag of Wanterbaach at Berdorf in Luxembourg. The sandstone rock here is very hard and compact characterised by technical climbing. There are a wide variety of climbing styles from powerful athletic routes to more fingery technical lines across a wide range of grades (F2 to F8c). All the routes are single pitch varying from 5m to 36m long, and have all been recently re-bolted in 2002.

Berdorf is situated in the east of Luxembourg near the border with Germany and about 5km from the town of Echternach. It is around 20km from Luxembourg-Ville. In total there are over 150 sport routes at Berdorf with the majority of routes in the F6a to F7c range. All the routes are shown on colour photo-topos. To climb at Berdorf a free permit is required that can be obtained from http://www.environnement.public.lu/guichet_virtuel/Escalade_Klettern/index.html

This is the 2nd edition of this guidebook, published in June 2013, and is in English text throughout.
