Rockfax Description
A fantastic route without the need of abseiling to get to the start. The name means 'The Seagulls' and was one of the first routes climbed here, the route is equipped with resin anchors.
1) 5a, 25m. Climb up the flake groove following the resin bolts to a bolted belay near a tree in a bay.
2) 5c, 25m. From the belay, gain the steep crack/groove from the left. Follow this to a tree belay on a ledge. Medium cam useful.
3) 3c, 20m. Go up to the slab to a wall - bolt. Scramble up the gully on the right to a tree belay below a chimney cleft.
4) 5c, 18m. Climb the cleft direct. Alternatively, a more strenuous alternative can be made up the wall just to its right via a long move to a good jug. Ascend the wall to the right of the cleft on solution pockets and exit left to a belay on a ledge.
5) 5b 20m. Traverse left for 4m to a bolt and then climb more or less direct up the pleasant groove to the top. © Rockfax
