Chiang Mai Guide says this is 6c+ Didn't have the bravery mindset for the mid section of this route today, if you fell you swooped into the cave below! I was burnt from the route to the left. Last climb of the day... My partner did this after me and was attacked by the bees near the top (the ones in the cone shape outside of their hive). He was stung over 50 times mostly on his head and arms, thankfully he had a t-shirt on. I let him down real fast and then the bees were on me. But I escaped un stung. Partner legged it to our scooter with his climbing shoes on! We lost I think 8 or 9 of our quickdraws as the bees were raging all day afterward and no-one would go near it, and we left for China the next day! The Chiang Mai Rock school kindly mailed them to us after the bees had chilled out and they were able to retrieve them. They didn't have to do this, we weren't on a trip with them or anything, they were just really kind!! I did a blog about it... http://jemandtaz.com/2012/12/22/326/ Will remain my favourite place in Thailand to climb despite the bees. Although I do love cooling off in the sea in the south...
