Also known as Spare Rib. The buttress to the left of the main gully can be climbed anywhere with lines to suit taste - weaving around the rock bands or taking them direct for a harder climb. Can be escaped anywhere by traversing onto the left-hand rib or to easier ground to the left. Gives a fun grade 2 scramble in summer conditions.

Ticklists: Peak Winter.

turf all the way, quite well frozen.Just left of main gully, with a spot of unstable mixed action to finnish. What snow that was there, and there was very little, was of no real use for upward progress, was on it around 9am.

Night ascent. Well frozen top to bottom. A nice II if you stick to the ridge line.

A good alternative to the gully if the crag is busy and more interesting too. Had lunch on a small ledge 2/3rds the way up. An easy and worthwhile grassy romp in summer too.
