thomas 5 Aug, 2011 Solo Left Les Fontanettes walking past Refuge Le Haut de Marlens after about 20 mins, ascended via Normal Route (North West Ridge) Facile (max)summited in two hours spent about 20 mins on top, shared only with Chamoise superb views of Mont Blanc. Descent via East Ridge (Arete Du Lac) nice Limestone ridge steep and exposed in places, protected if required by a via feretta cable (Warning sign near top of ridge indicating via ferretta present) at bottom of ridge walk to the delightful Lac Du Charvin then on a good path ascend slightly to a small col then descend to pick up outward path back to Les Fontanettes (Car parking) Superb round did it in a relatavely fast 4 and a half hours.
