First pitch of main gully was wet but rest was superb. Lead all the ice pitches as mates first proper route. A contender for the best value ice route in the lakes with three good and long ice pitches in main gully then three slightly steeper pitches on RH finish.

The Right Branch was in fine fettle with good ice all the way. Seemed easier than the lower approach pitches which were rather grim. Standard IV4. Good belays, fine stances, lots of exposure, fantastic outing!
