280m, 9 pitches. This a corker. Climbing the obvious crack, interest is provided by caves, chokestones and position. Take a full rack, as whilst bolts are provided at most belays, in between the gear is almost entirely trad with the odd peg and the even odder bolt. Descent by foot or by abseil from the top of the crag near the top of Snoopy.

subdir 14 Jul AltLd O/S We had a great day, starting late as the day before I was in Baku, with uncertain weather forecast... first challenge is finding the bridge to cross the stream, then the general line of the route is obvious but you will be going in and out of the big crack so route finding less obvious... at least three sections of proper chimney climbing, no way you can do these with a rucksack... the route can be done in 7 (bolted belays) or more pitches to manage rope drag - personally I recommend short pitches... full rack needed... we had a cam nr 4 and used it several times... Towards the end there’s a bolted variation... when you see the bolts, you know you have to go left... on top of the crag you’ll see a track, follow to left and descend in 30 mins... fixed ropes/cables in a couple of exposed sections.... all in all brilliant outing... unforgettable arriving to the meadow at the bottom of the crag in the dusk light in the beautiful setting of the Ailefroide camping... and no rain!

Dr Toph 1 Aug, 2016 Solo O/S Old school fun, 45 mins to the top. No real sense of exposure since a lot of it is in or around a chimney, and the difficulties are short-lived. Definitely not one for rucksacs.

doc_h 23 Aug, 2015 Lead rpt 23 August 2015 (for the third time.) First time in 1982, no fixed pro at all then, started late, got benighted and had to bivi at the top in shorts and tee shirt with 45m of 11mm rope as a blanket! 2nd time around 1990 with my wife and we shot up it. This last time was still great romping fun in spite of the all the pitons now in place although the bridging pitches seemed harder, or maybe that just me getting on a bit. It's great to see your little tent way down below you in the valley.

carlh 6 Aug, 2015 AltLd O/S Climbed with Ben Graham in approach shoes. A fantastic and memorable route. We climbed it quite quickly and ended up waiting for John and Ben, who had set off behind us, for about an hour on the top belay, which gave an amazing panaramic of the valley. It had a trad feel, but still lots of pitons and bolts at the belays and we didn't place much gear at all. Probably goes into my top 10 most enjoyable rock routes!
