Crevasses were far too open on the glacier, got about an hour away from the bivvy hut. After turning back spent an hour or so on the glacier going over anchor building on snow/ice with Peter using various bits and bobs. A route to come back for earlier in the season? Had a quick nap in the bivvy hut then boosted down to the valley in time for an afternoon ascent of the Amone Slab.

Solo'd most of the steep snow sections, the rope came out during the glacier approach and short rock section. Unpredicted cloud cover made for surprisingly good snow conditions. Climbed down the normal route and walked back down to La Fouly.

Route used in ascent, glacier very complex, rock section OK, upper glacier OK section after bergshrund wind scoured and icy.
