βeta: An odd route testifying to how strange a medium gneiss can be. Stranger still encountering such frazzling sunshine given we had just sat freezing in the shade for 90mins or so at Gruinard Main crag (note its more north than west facing!). The sunshine was welcome, but rendered quite a few of the 'slaty' holds a bit slick, which isn't helpful when this really isn't a route you should fall off. The HVS moniker really relays the quality of the gear rather than the difficulty of the climbing, though the steepness of the final moves might be a surprise to some. | ||
