July 2020 update: the National Trust has informed the BMC that climbing is not allowed - we are currently investigating the reasons behind this and seeing if a solution is possible which addresses their concerns whilst allowing climbing.

Alderley Edge is a somewhat esoteric venue, but can offer some half decent climbing on average rock, if you are prepared to investigate. The rock is conglomerate and sandstone and can be dirty in places. Unspoilt, quiet and never busy. Worth taking a soft brush and cleaning the climbs as you go.

Tranverse the entire wall from fence to Cave and back! Feet on the obvious bedding plane ledge of solid rock 1ft or so above ground. This ledge which is very large in places and absent occassionally.
So if one was to exit the cave the wall to your right. Start in cave and pull up on to ledge.
