Rockfax Description
(The Skier) The striking crack-line in the side-wall is very photogenic. It is easily ticked when descending after doing one of the longer routes on the front of the cliff. A little jamming is required low down, followed by hauling on jugs as the route gets steeper. © Rockfax

Steep climbing but on good holds with occasional need for a Jam - solid HVS

harold walmsley 03/Jul/17 Lead O/S

Damp at about 1/3 height, which made this the crux but still seemed quite easy for the grade

Great route at HVS. The crack was wet but the jams are fine anyway. Loads of surprising and not so surprising jugs in the top half and tons of gear, nothing specialist needed.

Great route. Good holds, big moves, excellent gear.

Was so stoked about this beautiful line. The lower crack was soaked and slimy, but it went fine. Took a fall on the upper crux. Make sure to have a green cam for the crack just above the tiny roof 2/3 up the wall. Bomber placement. Spent a lot longer time that I should have because of nervouseness. Next time it will go easily :D

Lead it with Roz seconding after she decided she didn't want to do it. Slightly wet. The awesome jamming crack doesn't actually require much jamming. Great jug hauling after - ace route.

Clare lead. The route started off damp (we were in the clouds). it then rained and it got wet. Ace

Pretty reachy for the short particularly when a lot of the crack is wet! Sustained.

good moves and a bit of a jug fest, especially if you can lank it past the wet jamming crack like me!

Fantastic. Crack was sopping wet but that only affected 2 moves where you have to jam, the rest was just fun jug hauling!

Peviously seconded in August 2002 with Jim and Jussi. felt much easier thankfully this time. As ali says i thought probably HVS 5a and safe at that, i've led harder VS's in my time! Theres a jug within reach every 2 ft or so although the bottom move would be dificult if you can't jam!

Agree with below, HVS 5a for sure, all holds are huge and even the jamming section is very short lived. Good though...
