220m, 7 pitches.
Fantastic route up the Torrione Palma, one of the many towers in the Grigna Meridionale. It has bolted belays, and every pitch has a bolt or peg where needed, while still having an alpine feel. Carry a small set of nuts and friends just in case.
Start by parking at Piani Resinelli then take a long approach of about 1:45 through the partly equipped via ferrata path to the Refugio Rosalba (Path Number 8 Diretissima). You will see a signpost to Torrione palma at one point diverting you off the path up a gully. Follow the gully with some grade III scrambling until you reach the base of the tower, the start of the route labelled "Cassin" in faded blue paint.
1. Go straight up and then slightly rightwards diagonally to a corner, up the corner to a bolted belay ledge. 40m
2. Challenging start, continue straight up following some bolts and pegs to another bolted belay. 25m
3. Go right to a peg and the climb upwards next to a corner, trending slightly leftwards and up to another corner, go up the corner to a ledge and belay. 35m
4. Climb leftwards diagonally and then climb straight up through a corner. Reach a ledge with a pine tree and belay bolts in front of it. 35m.
5. Traverse leftwards from the pine tree, awkwardly past a bulge and straight up onto a ledge. Then climb diagonally leftwards on nice flakes to a belay under an overhang. 25m
6. Go right from the belay to a peg and climb up some tricky moves to easier ground, trending slightly leftwards to a ledge belay. 25m.
7. Climb straight up to the summit. 25m
