Jules Lane 29 May AltLd O/S Lead P1-3, Tom lead the rest. Great day out but messed up route finding a bit so missed the good bits below and just about the sentry box on and then from part way up P6 decided to take the winter finish from below the protruding block as it was deemed too hard due to rock getting soaked in a sudden downpour. Shame. Climbing as a 3 with 2and 3 simul-climbing worked well. Car to car from Glen Muick car park 11 hours.

Calum3610 1 Sep, 2018 AltLd First four pitches in the damp with trainers, climbing shoes on nice dry rock thereafter. Lead the first and amalgamated 3rd (sentry box) and 4th pitches. Had a cheeky pull on gear on pitch 2, but seeing as it was a wet and greasy slab and friction wasn't going to work today I'm still counting it as a successful route.

sparkass 3 Aug, 2018 AltLd O/S We only had half a day so opted for this as a quick option in this area. We took bikes and left them when we left the landrover track and walked from there(about 2 hours to the base of the route). We wasted about an hour trying to new route and free an old aid line, it was only when trying 6a moves above rotten pegs we realised we were off route - evidence suggests we're not the only ones to do this. Once down we found the route and simul climbed in 2 hours with half an hour for dinner and a gear change mid route. I thought it was a great route, quite like mountaineering but the rock climbing's still fun. Not as much fixed gear as expected and what there is appears poor. Did a quick run to Lochnager summit to bag the peak and went home. The bikes downhill were amazing - such a fast decent. 6 hours car to car.

markneilly346 11 Oct, 2014 AltLd O/S Lead pitches 1 (50m), 3(15m) and 5(40m) Frosty morning, rock cold and wet for first few pitches. Despite good forecast, showers throughout day maintained wet rock. Trouble with rope drag lead to slow change overs and therefore pushed for time towards end. Reached summit just before dark. Badly mis-directed by blokes below us on pitch three, resulting in some precarious down climbing to the original route. Whaleback, as well as the classic summer crux (exposed step onto vertical wall, followed by hard move up to knife edge) provided hardest moves. Made much more tricky due to wet conditions. Traverse on last pitch was one of the highlights, very exposed requiring some good footwork.

Climbed in trainers, first pitch is sightly mucky but the rest is clean. Very solid throughout, route finding quite straightforward, a fair bit of stuck/doomed pro leads the way. P5 probably the best which was the more vertical of the pitches on good edges and flakes. The best route of this grade that I have climbed. (HS 4b ****)

jmr ?Jun, 1995 AltLd Brilliant!. Even in June we had do a snow/ice pitch to get to the start. Andy led that cutting steps needed for us in our trainers. Used pointy stones as ice axes... Man the tool maker survived yet again! The climb proper was superb. I remember on the top we swilled the three beers I had secretly lugged in my sack up the hill and the route in unusually sweltering Scottich mountain weather. Snowbuntings flitted around us on the top.
