GaryK 25 Jan AltLd O/S A fantastic & varied route. There was a crevasse on pitch two, a cave on pitch three and lots of strange steps in between. Try and get there early and beat the crowds, it's much better without big groups of people chasing you up the route. You walk off after pitch four, but the last two are worth doing.

RKernan 23 Jan, 2018 AltLd O/S Busy. lots of water running down the middle of P1. P3 soaking wet with a sream running down it into my sleeves. Ice on P4 was making worrying booming noises and sounded very hollow but this may just have been the acoustics of the cave belay and was OK when climbed on the right. The top section was hilariously free hanging and undercut by a pool of water, which didn't put off a few brave parties.

james.oc 23 Feb, 2017 AltLd O/S Best icefall so far. You can see why it's called forms of chaos. The shear volume of frozen water is a joy to climb. Wasn't busy, at the 2nd last pitch there was a hole in the middle of the ice you could not see from the right side. Best to take the left route.

andrzej kierzek 3 Feb, 2015 Lead O/S I lead all pitches. Fantastic route with great diversity of climbing. On pitch two it was not possible to shelter from ice dislodged by the teams above us. Fortunately, all bits of ice coming down were small enough.

Slarti B 14 Feb, 2014 AltLd O/S Lots of snow, ice was a bit thin in places but overall fine. Apparently bits started falling down the day after we climbed it as temperatures rose. Tube was excellent, nice lead by Eric. I led pitches 1,3,5,7, Eric 2,4,6. Quite busy with couple of groups from Rouen CAF but they climber quickly so we finished in peace.

masa-alpin 11 Feb, 2010 AltLd O/S Absolutely awesome route!! Apart from two sections of easy-angled snow/ice slope of 60 metres ish in total, the entire route (300m) is continuous steep ice falls with the grades no less than WI3 almost in every single move! Even the final pitch provides another challenging vertical wall. We climbed mainly in the left-hand side, although it looks slightly steeper than the right, as there were other parties climbing on the right-hand side (this is a justifiably popular route, apparently). We found bolts tend to lack in the left-hand side, and so at one stage I constructed the belay with an Avalakov thread and rock gear (TriCam). Graeme lead P1, P3, P5, P7(deep gully), whereas I lead P2, P4, P6(snow), P8, where P1 and P2 are 60 metres long and the others are roughly 30 metres long for each.
