Climbed on an ascender. Enjoyed pottering around at Hurlstone for a few hours. Very grateful to Pete in Taunton Leisure for the guidebook, history and beta. Set me up for exploring. The cave and arching slab above are fascinating. There is plenty of climbing here and it has an unexplored feel to it. Yes, it is a bit flaky but not dangerously so in my view. Coastguard Slab is delightful. I would say 4b is about right. Anchors among the boulders above require some thought and creativity. I abbed from the railings above to protect me while I set up. Well worth a visit.

Not quite the minor classic I was expecting from the guidebook! Quite run out due to not having enough quickdraws, could have laced it if we'd had more gear. No sign of any stakes at the top, solid belays from the rocky outcrop just above (with 50m ropes needed to untie and ab back to the top of the slab to belay) Fun but repetitive climbing up friable flakes with the crack only really used for protection. No more than S 4a *.

Rather flaky and dirty, though well protected. Would be a fine route with more traffic to clean it up.

Well worth checking out. The stakes at the top are in a dire state and when I checked it the top actually snapped off in my hand! Belays are possible in the shattered rock outcrops but you'd be better fixing a line from the fence down to the crag top if you were doing several routes.

Wow quite possibly the longest single pitch I have ever done, easy climbing but boy does it go on forever.

Very good route, with very easy climbing up to a 4b finish.
