Rockfax Description
This new via ferrata was installed in 2019 adds to the journey that you can experience from the same parking area. It is not covered in a topo as it mainly under the canopy of the trees. You need a 30m rope to use the pulley on the cable traverse of the gorge to prevent damaging the wire.
From the parking area, walk back towards the road. On the right-hand side of the track, just where it meets the road, is start of the cable. Descend down into a tight gorge (might be prone to flooding, so avoid in rain). Once in the base of the gorge, follow the intricate via ferrata as is winds down the water-worn sides and across a cableway. You need a pulley that will fit on 12mm cable - do not use a carabiner as this will damage the cable. Continue on both sides of the gorge to arrive back at the base where a short walk leads to another set of rungs and cable up to below a cliff. Go up and back down the side of a boulder to a 'postmans walk' leading to a traverse of an exposed cliff. This deposits you back on the main track just below the parking. It is about a 200m walk down to the start of the next via ferrata. © Rockfax
