Rockfax Description
A good direct line through the steepest part of the buttress. Start at a large vegetated ramp that runs up rightwards from below the corner of The Shroud.
1) 14m. Head up the ramp and wall to a tree belay below the steep wall.
2) 5b, 12m. Move up to the narrow left-facing corner and climb it to a ledge. Traverse left to a belay below the wall just left of the overhanging corner-line.
3) 5c, 15m. Move up right and make a tricky move onto a ledge. Climb the steep corner-line and overhangs, moving right to pass the upper roof and reach a small ledge above it. Climb the wall above leftwards to a ledge and belay.
4) 4a, 30m. The vegetated line of corners, walls and grooves eventually gains the top. © Rockfax
