Slarti B 21 Sep AltLd O/S From Mezzalama hut. Not properly acclimatised, Po Valley to top in just over 24 hours! Started up South East face before joining main route. Very loose to start with but enjoyable mix; scrambling, climbing, ice. Put leg through ice bridge into crevasse on way down :-(

Phil_Brock 5 Aug, 2017 Lead O/S LMC Alps meet. Day trip from Klein Matterhorn lift (already acclimatised). PD+ in the Martin Moran guidebook. Fixed chains on the crux - climbed up without using the chains to climb but clipped them with quickdraws for protection. Descended last and used the chains to help down climb in order to speed things up. Nice mixture of snow, scrambling and rock climbing! Very dry conditions due to a heat wave so no snow / ice on the rocky section.

davkeo 22 Jul, 2017 AltLd O/S Anni led most of it. Walked over to the bivi Rossi Volante in the morning from Rif. Guide in about 3.5hrs. Approached the bivi from above due to an overnight storm filling the crevasses & making the glacier crossing tricky to navigate. We were following others so this made life easier. Nice trip up Pollux with blue skies coming through & enjoyable climbing. Some hard ice in places. Back to bivi before 2pm.

Jamie Johnston 6 Sep, 2015 Lead A nice approach through glaciated terrain, with a relatively short and interesting finish. Wasn't sure what to expect so took a handful of nuts and tat in case they would be useful but in the end simply clipped into the chains to protect myself on the way up. Simple series of abs back off.

Mihkel 18 Aug, 2015 AltLd O/S Started from Val d'Ayas hut. A cracking little route - glacier approach, short rock buttress, fixed ropes up a steep section, then snow arete to the top. Descent by same way. I led up and half of down, then led return across glacier to Kleiner Matterhorn lift. [15mins out from the lift, Brains urged me to 'go for it' - I wasn't aware he'd untied from rope and that I was dragging Lionel, which I felt a little guilty about - I drove hard and 15 mins after stopping at the lift I took my pulse and it was still at 190 bpm......]
