βeta: With the recent significant rockfall, (noted as 2024 in the new Royal Deeside guidebook), there is clearly substantial instability in the crag. The line of Crystal Hunter takes the face to the right of the rockfall scar. I climbed the grey pillar to the top of the first pitch (as described in the guidebook). The blocks on the top of the pillar all move and sound hollow. The integrity of the pillar itself is questionable, given the rockfall to the right. I downclimbed from here. I would recommend treating this crag with caution. | βeta? | |
