Please refrain from climbing outside

Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19, please abstain from climbing outside.

At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving, but we feel this is no longer socially acceptable. You can read our statement here.

We have suspended the UKC Logbooks Top Ascents and Conditions pages and we will no longer accept ascents dated from 23rd March onwards. You can still upload your historic ascents.

UKClimbing Team

The route takes a hard continuous sequence of 5b climbing protected by micro wires at the start of sequence. The upper slab is easier but with minimal micro wire protection so E1 5b is realistic. The route is of 2 star quality with no loose rock.

Lumbering Oaf 15 Oct, 2019 Lead dnf Managed to climb the bottom part of the route to the first break, put gear in, and then couldn’t work out the next section (harder than 5b) where the thin crack starts. Ended up traversing left and climbing a VS crack before plodding up the centre of the top slab. Fun slab though :)

Jelly Mould Surfer 11 Mar, 2014 Lead The foot ledge at the start has been washed away (Yep, that far from the sea. No sign of it.) The route is now 4 feet longer, 6a start for the tall, 6b for the short, or a p of p if you use Jokerman to gain the first break.

Joel Perkin 25 Feb, 2013 2nd Wow! What a climb. This was a very hard climb, very thin, not the best protection and sustained. It doesn't really let up until you reach the nice foot ledge. Being upgraded to E1 in the new guidebook and a tricky one at that!

Jelly Mould Surfer 14 Nov, 2012 2nd RP The move past the overlap at 20feet is very thin - took a second go to do it even with a rope above.
