Due to resident golden eagles, do not climb here between the start of March and the end of July unless you have checked with the North Harris Trust Ranger service and they confirm:

  1. the golden eagles are using an alternative nesting site; or,
  2. the golden eagles have been unsuccessful in breeding.

You can find contact details for the helpful North Harris Trust Ranger service at: https://www.north-harris.org/ranger-service

Climbing on the Sron whilst these beautiful, reclusive birds are nesting damages their chances of successfully breeding. These animals are in a remote location and have little contact with humans, let alone climbers, throughout the majority of the year. Please allow them their space, it's the least we - as climbers - can do.

Moreover, climbers causing the disturbance of these magnificent birds, their young, or their nests would be committing a criminal offence in relation to recklessly (or intentionally) disturbing a wild bird listed in Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended).
