Rather chopped out but fantastic route. Pitch one the crux on the day but all of it exciting and classic!

Superb route in brilliant conditions. Lead guidebook crux but found seconding pitch 1 and 3 at least as hard with the bag. Substantially harder than any grade V ice routes I've done so possibly worth the upgrade in the latest guide.

Finally, a route I prefer to Point Five Gully! What a special day. Sun, first time axe placements and good gear. The route has clearly seen a lot of traffic recently. Top of the first pitch proved to be slightly tricky as the snow was rotten but perfection apart from that. Climbed in 4 pitches

In fabulous condition. First time axe placements in solid ice all the way. Smith's had seen lots of ascents prior to ours.

Blue skies, brilliant ice, only a couple of other teams in the coire and a cracking route. Contender for best ever day climbing. Led pitches 2 and 4.

Pitches 1,3&4. AMAZING!! steep and sustained throughout, and good, if a bit stepped, snow-ice. Bold.

I've waited years to do this and I have to say it exceeded my high expectations. Tremendous route. Pretty sustained and hard. I led pitches 3 and 5, Dave combined pitches 1 and 2.Climbed in very cold full winter conditions with plenty of spindrift coming down.My best scottish winter route to date.

first pitch was 'unjustifiable vertical slush' to quote jim, but luckily the arms felt ok after a week in norway. steep and sustained climbing. Miles harder than point five.

In good nick with some continental ice hooking on the steep sections. Pegs at the belays could do with replacing but there is other gear around, otherwise superb day out!

Six parties on a day. So good that it's worth the queuing! Actually not much stuff falling down from above as the ice was so firm. Brilliant route!

I led pitches 2 and 4. 3hrs 45mins. Superb conditions - cave accessible (for a runner) in pitch 4. Magnificent route first done by step cutting - a stunning achievement by Jimmy Marshall.
