The traverse route is called Road Rash and marked on a slab. Traverse route is about 20 meters long. This is ideal for beginners who want to 'Get To Grips' with equipment and confidence building without the fear of a fall. At any given time you are only a couple of feet above the ground so there is no fear of serious injury. This traverse is on a ledge. The ledge is about 15 - 20 foot wide from the climb and comes to a dead end with a tree. PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON LEDGE AS IT'S A BIG DROP BELOW!
Located in Dorothea Quarry. Enter Dorothea from Nantlle and walk straight following the track and approx 400 yards you will see a right turn, if you look to your right you will see old ruins which should have fresh tyre tracks from the farmer. Follow the track uphill, scale the gate and you will see a small drop of around 6 foot in a north west direction from the gate, which you can walk down the rocks. Turn right and you will see a ledge with a quarry lake about 60 meters below. The ledge is about 15 - 20 foot wide from the climb and comes to a dead end with a tree. PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON LEDGE AS IT'S A BIG DROP BELOW!
