Very easy walk in (or cycle, since it is a good track all the way) which takes about 30 minutes.
The boulders mostly have good landings and a lot of the bracken appears to have been cleared recently. However, there are a number of saplings which have been planted recently which, in time, will shelter some of the boulders.
This is on the edge of a military firing range. When the red flags are firing do not enter (having said that, it actually appears to be a fair way off from the range and outside the red flag area, but do you want to take the chance?!
BMC website says "Contact Catterick Training Area HQ on (01748) 875507 to ensure military training is not taking place. For additional info. contact Defence Estates on (01748) 875508." but this is right next to a public right of way, so I don't really think it applies.

Reason: Nesting Birds
Do not enter when the red flags are flying.
A lovely little circuit, all under f6c. Mostly small boulders, with only a couple high ones. petegunn - 21/May/19 |
