Long neglected small natural crag beside the Grangemeill - Ashbourne road. The crag is dominated by a steep wall undercut by a double cave. Up until 2009 the only routes where on the slabby faces either side of the cave. The old routes look like they'd be pretty good if cleaned, a bit like Aldery cliff.
Don't park on road below crag as no suitable spaces and lots of big quarry trucks go by. Park 50m up the Brassington turn off (300m north up the road) beside a gate.
Birds nesting (2025) on Great Tribulation and near base of crag around Age of Austerity. Please do not climb at the crag until August to give the birds the best chance of breeding successfully.
Take great care not to damage fence when accessing crag.
Birds nesting on Great Tribulation and around Age of Austerity (late May 2025). Please give the birds a chance by avoiding the crag until August. Hip-Hip-Hurrah - 02/Jun/25 |
