New routing on Lewis © Robert Durran

Crag features

An excellent and fairly complex headland, notable for the popular Folded Wall area where there is a good spread of lower and mid-grade routes. Most of the climbs lie on the west-facing side of the headland on a series of northward running walls. Some of the climbs can suffer from greasiness but this often dries later in the day when the sun comes round.

Approach notes

Turn north off the A858 at Siabost bho Thuath at a sign for An Carnan and Fibhig and park on the left just before the two houses at the end of the road. Walk to the end of the road, and turn left through a gate in front of the most northerly croft. Go through another gate beside a ruin and descend a grassy slope, crossing a fence to gain the boulder beach. Cross this, then head across the field to between the two highpoints ahead and cross the fence to reach Scrap Heap Bay.
