Crag features

Relatively remote and peaceful, Antisana is a large, heavily crevassed volcano which offers a more solitary climbing experience compared with nearby Cotopaxi. The glacier and route near the summit change frequently making route finding the main challenge. Local guides with recent experience of the mountain highly recommended.

Approach notes

Antisana is on private land and a permit is required to gain access. Agencies based in Quito can provide 4x4 and the necessary permissions.
