Crag features

Doan is a picturesque little summit in the heart of the Mournes. The climbing is mainly on discontinuous slabs and buttresses on the south face. There are also short crags just below the summit offering easy routes and technical bouldering.

Approach notes

Head along the Ott Mountain Track to the Slieve Lough Shannagh/Carn Mountain col and contour round above Lough Shannagh.

Approach time: 1 hour

A nice isolated setting if fairly obscure. 'Fag End' is deceptively good and some of the other routes look reasonable too, but the approach and descent are unpleasantly steep and prickly!
