The Maukspitze is best known for the Buhl Route on the West Face, the first ascent of which is described in a chapter of Nanga Parbat Pilgrimage. It also now has a number of harder climbs.

Approach from the Ackerl Hut (ÖAV Sektion Kufstein, only staffed on weekends throughout the summer).
