"There are three climbing areas. The cliffs lining the A6 Buxton to Bakewell Road, The Canyon (Lover's Leap) at SK 072727 and 'The Forbidden Slab' at SK 078727. The cliffs and Canyon are a bit vegetated, wheras the slab is smooth.
I did the first ascents of the compulsive trespasser slabs, which i will put on here for completeness when i have time. also did 2 routes in the canyon.

We had a cleaning party in the ravine today. Abseiled the right hand walls and cleaned the hanging mess and domestic waste. Also cleaned the river of whats been dumped in it. Now a much nicer place to be

Access to The Forbidden Slab is difficult. The routes have not been publicised elesewhere and access is probably not allowed. It lacks any distinctive features. In its centre just below the top is a perfectly smooth area (with a couple of tiny pockets and holds) up which Compulsive Trespasser finishes. The routes either side finish up cracklines. Just to the right of Trespasser's Slab is a belay tree.
We tried here yesterday evening when it was wet elsewhere, and found that the bolts have been stripped from the wall with 'ZCT and 'down in the sewer' on. Peakphil - 12/Jul/15 |
