From the parking at the roadhead of the Rees Valley start of the Rees-Dart Track, follow the Rees Dart Track north for approximately 6km until the turning for the 25 mile hut. Ford the river where you can and follow the valley for a further 2km until a DOC sign marks the way up a path through the woods on the west side of the valley. Follow the path up eventually to Kea Basin then gain and traverse the glacier southwest for a further 1km to Wright Col, beyond which is the Esquilant Bivi hut.
