Climbs 12
Rocktype Grit (quarried)
Altitude 100m a.s.l

Crag features

Used to hold about 30 routes some of which were not bad. Unfortunately these got quarried and we're left with a dozen poor routes. A fine example of why lots of good Lancashire climbers left Lancashire.

Approach notes

"Don't bother going there, it's not worth it" - to quote Rocktart, who wrote this. [9/02]

In the middle of Whittle-le-Woods.

I live aboout 1/2 km from this supposed crag and when I first moved here 10 years ago I went for a look. I couldn't find it and I couldn't find the legendary flying shed either. I assumed that it had all been demolished or did I miss something? Colin PS Holiday arrangements permitting I'm in for the bolt debate mark II

The locals say that this is to be made into a bird sanctuary. That will end climbing I suppose. The rock is terrible, and would need a lot of work to remove all the loose and dangerous stuff before climbing could start. Not worth the effort.
