Piton Crack © Chazz

Crag features

Outcrop approx. 250m long. A good contrast of routes and problems. Some routes are green although many of the buttresses have a solid feel on sound rock. Clingen (E2 5c) and Twin Cracks (VS 4b) are excellent along with a good number of HVS routes for those interested in that grade. [Peter Fuggle]

Usual guidebook conflicts for the Bouldering.

TC = Total Climbing
CD = Cameron Duff (Rockfax)

Approach notes

No access problems. A road is literally at the top of the crag. (Albert Promenade, near Wainhouse Tower, Halifax.)

Bollards across Rocks Road/Albert Promenade junction and also across Albert Promenade itself near Rocks Road.

No Access Issues

No serious access issues have been reported but climbers should not clear any trees from around the crag. Calderdale Borough Council are prepared to undertake tree management when required. Please contact local gritstone rep. if this becomes necessary.
