As a place to top rope and practice your slab technique, this venue can provide a good evening's entertainment. It is hard to recommend the climbing to leaders (or soloists) as it needs thorough cleaning to remove exfoliating flakes and the protection possibilities are still very limited. Grades should be taken with a very large pinch of salt with the routes in their current condition.
It is best to approach the top of the crag. Driving from Plymstock, descend the hill into Hooe and turn right into Meadow Park, turn right again and then first left into Westfield Avenue and park near the bend. A footpath leads through garages to a metal gate. The crag top, often guarded by inquisitive Soay Sheep can be seen from here.
It is council owned and the approach is across a privately owned field so keep a low profile and be courteous if asked to leave.
