Escape the crowds, and noisy longtail boats. for the peace and quiet of spirit mountain. Set among mangostine, palms, and rubber trees.
This crag was developed last season Nov09-May10, by a small dedicated group, of friends. All routes are equipped with titanium glue in bolts,or rope slings. All have three point anchors, with a large steel ring to lower off. This crag has fantastic variety of routes, in both grade and style. There are around 30 routes at the moment 6a through to 7c. Most of the harder grades are second pitches, but can be done as one pitch from the groung with a 70m rope. The easier routes are on a large toofa system right side of crag. The mid section is more slabby, delicate, technical, and balancey. Left side is harder more Technical. There is an open project I think will go at around 8b/b+. The upper level is overhanging sustained climbing on jugs. Please be extra careful, This is a new crag so there is potential for some lose rock,or things (stalagtites) breaking
During the dry season the sun hits at around 2pm.Then you can walk 30m around to the north side which is in the shade all day. There are around 10 routes 6a-7a. Further along is a huge cave with great bouldering potential.
I will be back in Nov with a new drill,so loads more routes to come.
I will post a toppo as soon as I get back.
There is also a small toilet/shower block at the crag kindly built by the owner. There are around 10 bungallows under construction, they are around 15m from the crag.
