Crag features

Short bouldery routes, located in a small canyon. There are around 30 routes, ranging from 5 – 7b, with the best climbing around the higher 6's and upwards. All except Chorreiras are southeast orientated and the best time to climb is usually during the afternoon.

Albufeira was equipped during 2008 and is generally safe but the traffic in this crag is not very high and the rock quality varies, so take care with loose rocks.

Approach notes

Coming from Albufeira, follow the directions to the Marina, until you reach a roundabout with dolphin sculptures. Head straight ahead (instead of turning left to the marina) and after ~300m you will find a small car park on your left-hand side.

Really good little area. Well worth a visit. Nothing for else for many miles. Really frictiony red limestone. Most routes approx 15m. The three main sectors are south facing. The other, chorreiras, is only 8m, and easier, but in the shade all day. Easy access, really good bolting.

Visited this morning, paths could do with a serious trim. In some areas they were impassable without crawling. Routes look good though chipped, with quality bolts and very generous bolt spacing.
