Crag features

The Mount Batten Climbing Wall is an outdoor climbing wall combining natural and man made holds on a limestone quarry face. This Plymouth City Council facility is available for hire to inducted climbing leaders/teachers and their groups. The wall provides both top roping and lead opportunities on bolted sports routes, an abseil 'tower' and via ferrata ramp leading to extensive views across Plymouth Sound. Climbs vary from around 4+ to 6c. It's also possible to use the wall on a multipitch basis.

Approach notes

Very important. This is a Plymouth City Council facility, and permission is needed to climb here. The wall will regularly be open on Tuesday evenings, weather allowing, from Easter 2012 until the light fails in early Autumn. Please get in contact if you are interesting in climbing here.
