Crag features

By far the best climbing area in KL. Can be reached by a 20minute Uber costing less than 8 euro.

For more information message me or visit the Malaysian Bolting Fund Facebook page.

An impressive bean shaped fin which is easily accessible from Kuala Lumpur. The limestone, which dominates the climbing, sits on top of a granite base. This makes for interesting climbing, usually involving numerous different styles.

Approach notes

Your best bet is taking a local, but if you're feeling adventurous...

Get an uber to drop you or Park at the Guard House on Jalan (road) 3/1, Templer Heights.

Sign in and head up the road to the very top where the road finishes at the jungle.

Skirt the allotment belonging to the house with lots of dogs on the right and head in.

To JENGA, BATTLEFIELD, ANA'S GARDEN and ELYSIUM:

Head in the same direction as the road into the jungle, the path get's varying amount of traffic over the year, dependent on the development of other sectors and the weather.

You should stay only go down a little bit at the biggining of the track, the rest is pretty flat and contours round to the bottom of the crag. after about 10-15 minutes you should see the rock on the right, keep following the track until it comes out at the far left end of Jenga.

To PUSSEY KEY, BIG HOLE AND CATHEDRAL:

Just after entering the jungle, head directly up, at the time of writing this track is very well warn and quite obvious.

Follow it as it meanders straight up the hill. You will come to a section where a huge area of trees has fallen down, head up and to the right over the trees to rejoin the path.

Continue meandering up the hill to reach the rock, this route is called Pussey Key.

Head up the hill from here to reach Big Hole and then onwards to Cathedral.

By the time you're reading this, we may have got round to marking the trail, but in all honesty we like the fact that it's a little adventurous. We hope you will too!

No Access Issues

Occasionally there are some dogs at the end of the road before you hit the jungle trail. The can seem threatening but walk calmly and authoritively past them and you will have no issues!
