Crag features
Hidden up in the woods behind Over Silton village. Takes a few days to dry out after wet weather. Advisable to abseil chosen routes to clean before climbing. All have been done above mats but would make nice leads although cams would be useful. Update: Time hasn't been good to the condition of this crag and it's now beneath a healthy layer of moss.
Approach notes
Park either in Over Silton village or at the quarry a bit further up the road. Take the main forest track north east for about a mile to a crossroads at the top. Take the third track on the left & after about 100m take a small path left to a rock & popular viewpoint. Go right through the overgrown path where the crag is about 50m.
| A good bit of rock at a fair old size. The line of the crag is white star line, which is great. Unfortunately its green as hell - even after dry spells. I'm not sure I'd go back until someone chops all the trees down around it. Franco Cookson - 21/Jul/13 |
