Another classic line for the Drivdalen area of Oppdal, offering a full day's adventure in an incredible location.
The ice fall offers two distinct lines of three pitches, a direct climb up the steep wall of the ice fall or a less steep route coming somewhat around the backside to gain the final shared pitch.
Drive South on the E6 from Oppdal into Drivdalen and take the right-hand turn just before Drivstua train station. Cross the tracks and take a left to find a parking place - by the old train shed is ideal.
Walk back towards the farm and follow the road into the farmyard taking the first left, follow this track to the stream coming down Grubekken.
The approach to the ice can be strenuous, especially in deep snow so consider snowshoes and poles, its not an ideal place for skis (skinning) but could be done.
Descent from the route is either by ice if you're unfortunate, or by the long ridge opposite the icefall, avoiding the cornices and steep crags. Follow the ridge down the northern side of the stream to regain the road.
Approach time: 1-2hrs, conditions dependant
