Climber at Massone © icnoble
Massone is effectively 3 separate crags within a short walking distance of each other and is the most famous crag in the region.
Sector A-D (the lower crag)is the most extensive, highly polished and generally undergraded and the brilliant Sangit (7A+/7B)as good as it gets at the grade. Sector E (Abissi) is mainly 7's with pride of place going to Beach Boys (7B/7B+) but also a hidden gem is Utopia (6B+/6C). The upper crag Sector F (Il Pueblo) has nothing below 7B+ and whilst the setting leaves much to be desired it is worth having a gawp at the amazing Underground (9A).
The desciptions and grades in the new guide (Arco Rock) are generally shoddy and its a good job the route names are often painted at the starts as the topo drawings are rubbish.
A roadside crag but parking can be tricky. Good for families ie picnic tables, toilet etc.
