Climbs 74
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 359m a.s.l
A beautiful crag, set in a small gorge, with climbs ranging from vertical to super-steep on mainly tufas and pockets. Grades range from 6a to 8b+. Climbing is possible all year round as the crag is north facing and in the trees, though at the warmer times of the year, the sun hits the crag for three hours, around 1pm to 4pm. There is a spring for water, and a wooden platform for camping, though it can be busy.
From Trikala, follow signs for Elati. Follow the road through the village of Pyli, and after the bridge, park on the left near a sign. Follow the dirt track on the opposite side of the road, and at it's end (there are beehives on the left) turn left and follow the gorge upstream on a faint path for approx 15mins - small yellow walking signs, and occasional red paint marks higher up.
29/3/19 platform is rotten and broken. In need of repair.
The crag faces south west but the shade starts hitting it at around 1/2pm in November. There is also some shade from the trees, the section with all the 7b’s is pretty shady George_Surf - 31/Oct/20 |
